If any of you follow 3lilladiesnme on Instagram or Facebook you have probably seen my last post about my amazing and magical summer adventure with the family!! Well, it was amazing and magical until our looooong drive home (13 hours to be exact) when Miss. K (3 year old) decides to put a mini M&M up her nose!!! REALLY?!?
So we’re about 8 hours outside of town and my mom instincts kick in!! Google, something/anything! I read about aspirating the object, waiting and hoping the heat from the body would dissolve it, and my least favorite, going to the ER.
Thankfully I was able to contact our pediatrician when they told me about “Mothers Kiss” you follow these simple steps and you have a safer and better chance of getting the object out!
MOTHERS KISS
??♀️ Lay the child down, a parent or caretaker places their mouth over the child’s mouth while holding the unaffected nostril closed with one finger.
??♀️The parent or caretaker blows into the child’s mouth.
??♀️The breath may force the object out.
Quick disclaimer: moms you WILL have snot and anything else on your face!! You’ll be really happy about it though ??♀️
Now that I know this valuable piece of information…I’m wondering how I went 7 years with twins and had no idea!! I wish I didn’t miss the memo years ago. Now, I’m giving it to you!!
Hopefully this info will help another mama remain calm and know what to do before panicking in this silly and crazy situation!!
Does this rule out the drive to Ohio ???
Hahaha!!! Nah, well definitely be there. Just this time no M&M’s!!!
