If you’ve been following us for a while you know we don’t need a reason to have a little celebration!!! We are too busy making life “Sparkle and Shine!!” But one thing I’ve found to be true over and over again is that you can very easily go overboard with things that you DON’T need to make a holiday magical. I am guilty of this time and time again, (Just ask my husband, and my bank account) What we have learned over the years with our three munchkins is that you can still do cute things, we just make sure they fit into our everyday life. For Example…Easter Bunny Plushies!! Raise your hand if your kids have a million bunny plushies ?? ok, Raise your hand if they hardly ever play with them??. We had so many in the house!!! You know how they say rabbits multiply fast, ours did!! We had always put the usual stuff: a stuffed bunny, headband bunny ears, candy etc. (which is awesome if your little one is in the baby and toddler stages) You know, the traditional stuff. We found out though, as the kids get older the thrill is gone in a day and we were back to where we initially started. That is now a thing of the past…are you ready?!?!
THEMED BASKETS
Lets get creative!!!! We take the latest sport, hobby or show and build off that. And who says you need a basket? I gave my husband (before kids) a rolling cooler with easter grass and candy in it. lol. We have found that the surprise element and the proverbial “Gift that keeps on giving” has held their interest and created much more excitement wondering what that sneaky Easter Bunny is up to. And… guess what?!?! No more plushies!!!! #momwin.
This year the lil ladies expressed an interest in gardening after we did a home experiment sprouting seeds in a wet paper towel (Another Blog Post in the Works) They thought it was so much fun to watch the change from seed to plant!! They even expressed an interest in starting their own garden…Insert Great Easter idea!! We found the cutest gardening utensils, pots, gloves, watering cans at the Target dollar spot and the rest at Walmart or dollar tree. Since our theme is gardening even the candy is vegetable or flower shaped. This was such a fun easter to prepare for because it was something different, something that I know will keep them busy this summer and something I know they can learn from.
The neat thing about these themed baskets is you can make them for kids and adults alike!!
Here are some other fun themes to get creative with!
Sports: new ball, water bottles or gear
Princesses: crown, tutu, wands and fairy dust etc.
Purses: fill with easter grass and makeup or gift cards
Cooler: fill with easter grass and dads favorite beer!
Art Basket: new brushes, canvases, paints etc.
Enjoy!!
