Rotten To The Core Birthday Party!
Yup, It’s that time again!! Another PARTY!!!
The twinies are turning EIGHT years old!!! How is this possible? and What do you do for tween-agers?!?! This year they decided to change things up a bit, and boy did they. They wanted a Disney Descendants Party!! If you haven’t seen the movies yet, do. They are darling. The movies are based on the troublemaking offspring of some of my favorite Disney villains like Maleficent, The Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil and Jafar! Not only are these movies fun to watch but the music is a lot of fun and they have some positive messages hidden in there for a great teaching opportunity!!
Now that you know a little of the backstory, you will also know that this party took us out of our comfort zone… we had to search high and low for props and get a little creative. Most of the time Pinterest has everything we need for any party, this time our ever faithful Photoshop was there to save the day!!
We created these fun images oft girls wearing their costumes in front of their respectable, or un-respectable Disney Villain. Brooke has always liked the character Evie…The Evil Queens daughter. They both tend to be very fashionable and sassy! When taking the pic I didn’t have to give much direction ?.
Miss Lexi on the other hand chose to be Mal aka Maleficent’s daughter. She has always loved the color purple so this was a no brainer for us!!
We first started out with these Darling and high quality costumes!! The little ladies like wearing them when they watch the movies and they will be perfect for Halloween!! #mom-win
These cute faux leather-bound books served as our Invitations. We definitely wanted something a little different from the original paper card invitation. These dollar store books we turned into Mal’s Spell book with the help of a Cricut machine and gold vinyl.
Party Time!
Ok, How perfect is this venue!! We totally lucked out with the day being overcast and kind of gloomy. Perfect for a Villain party!! The set up was super easy with dollar store table cloths and some decor that we had left over from Halloween!
The Poison Apples…what can I say? These poison apples totally happened by chance, and they are probably my most fav part of the party. Here I am at 10 pm the night before sending my husband outside to cut branches off our apple tree and I’m melting white chocolate to make the spooky faces. lol. All I can say is that a parent will do anything for their kids, even pull out a culinary masterpiece on the fly.
After all was said and done the party was a SUCCESS!! We had a great time and got to be “Rotten To The Core” for a couple of hours.
Hope y’all enjoyed a glimpse into our Disney Villain Party!!
This Disney Villain party theme is wickedly cool! 🙂
Thanks so much luv…we definitely had a great time with that theme!!
