I’m going to give parents all those warm and fuzzy feelings?!?!
Being a parent can be sometimes hectic. The constant running around, the organization that has to be done even before leaving the house. I am going to share a wonderful program (that I feel) was tailored to my crazy mama life. A FREE program that I personally utilize and love. I highly recommend this to my fellow parents out there. Heck, to anyone who shops for groceries.
Are you ready? I’m talking about what an amazing, wonderful, awesome, and spectacular program Walmart Pickup is. It’s the best thing ever invented. Or, as my girlfriend called it “life changing.” When I talk about “Pickup” I’m talking about a personal shopper (makes me feel fancy) picking out my groceries and loading them in my car! Talk about service! For some, it might be hard to know that someone else is picking out your bananas or avocados. If you’re anything like me, relinquishing that control is super hard to do. I’m here to tell you that even I (the controlling lady) thinks this program is nothing short of phenomenal!
Recently, I had the privilege to tour a local Walmart Super Center. I was able to see all the inner workings of this well oiled machine. Let me tell ya, it’s not what I initially thought. I thought: ok, I’ll open an app, order groceries, they pick them, they put them in my car. Done deal! It’s soooo not the case, Its so much more.
Initially I had so many questions…
You know the how’s, why’s and when’s. I am now able to provide all the answers! Yay!!
Let’s talk about the app, that cute little button on your phone that contacts you with the world. Just kidding, but it does connect you with all the Walmart stores. All you have to do is download the FREE Walmart Pickup app from your app store, available for both Android and iOS devices. Once downloaded, you will create your own account with your information (Just know your credit card is encrypted, no worries there).
Your In!! Lets start shopping! Rather then boring you, I want to show just how user friendly the app is.
There are a couple ways to use the app:
Featured Items:Displays random items that you might want to order?
Browse by Department: I love to go through each department like I’m personally walking down each aisle.
Favorites: This is my fav…hehe. I don’t have to search for my “go to” products. They are already in one place.
Search:You can search for specific brands or products by name instead of scrolling.
P.S. You can even order meats and cheeses from the deli. Talk about fresh!!
Now that you have chosen all your groceries…
You already know what you have spent on said groceries. I’m gonna say that again, you already know what you have spent! No surprises at checkout #momwin.
Now comes the FUN part… a Personal Shopper! yes, a personal shopper who has undergone specific training. How cool is that? They shop for your groceries like you would. Walmart’s Pickup approach is “Shop for the customer like you are shopping for yourself.” It warms this mamas heart to know that Walmart is going above and beyond for my family!
After a personal shopper has picked all your groceries they are stored in a secure back area to await pick-up. This area (not only is super clean and organized ?) it is lined with refrigerators and freezers to keep your groceries fresh. It was quite amazing to see the system and how it all worked. Each order is specifically tagged so that when notified, Walmart pickup will deliver your groceries within a 5 minute time frame. They want your experience to be a quick and easy one. No more then 5 minutes by the time you pull up to the time you’re leaving! Thats mommy greatness right there.
I can’t believe I’m saying this…but, I have picked up my groceries with my girls still in their pajamas. I know a mama who’s child was sick, she was still able to pick up their groceries in a 5 minute time frame without having to get out of her car!
Oh yah… they don’t let you tip. I’ve tried… They actually prefer for you to go online and leave a stellar review, Woo Hoo!

I use something similar for Kroger called Click List. It’s awesome! I’ve recently noticed though that WalMart has started to beat my Kroger prices so I’ll have to start doing more shopping at WalMart. Going to try the Pickup next!

we have not tried this (we don’t have a walmart anywhere nearby), but we do love instacart for those days where shopping is too much!

Walmart grocery pickup is a game changer! I hadn’t shopped at Walmart in years until they started this, and now it’s all I do. I have two young kids, so not having to get out of my car is a gift! Thanks for the coupon code!

This does sound extremely handy, if you have a Walmart close by! Alas, our nearest Walmart is about five miles and a half-hour of solid traffic away from us – but for those who live closer to one, great deal!

Love Walmart Grocery! It is so great for busy moms on the go. And has cut our grocery bill by at least $50/week! As a mom of two under two, aint NOBODY wasting my one hour of precious alone time in a grocery store!
