All about the Cinco de Mayo FUN!
You know that phrase “celebrate if the moon is full,” Well that explains us to a T! The current shindig, a Cinco de Mayo party for my girls and their neighborhood friends. Most of the time it’s the adults who are having all the fun, not this year. The kiddos will have their own table and movies to keep them entertained.
This little celebration also doubles as a teaching opportunity for my girls to learn about their heritage and and why we celebrate. Not only will the kiddos have a decorated table but they will also have fun movies like Book of Life or Coco. Talk about a well rounded party, sweets, movies, and pinatas!! I want to sit at their table.
Not your typical Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.
This year I’m going with more muted pinks and greens, kind of gives it a girlier touch (don’t ya think?).I love that there are no rules when it comes to designing your own party. The sky is the limit!
Now… if your more of a traditionalist, you’ll probably enjoy those gorgeous bright and colorful parties. Well, Guess what? I got ya covered luv! Check out last years tablescape for some colorful fiesta inspo Cinco De Mayo Fiesta.
Staring it all!
The Inspo for this party was this darling cake I saw on, of course…Pinterest! It had the cutest heart shaped cacti, and the rest is history. Now, the Piterest cake not only had a cute topper, it was gorgeously iced. Yall know I am the queen of naked cakes! Only because, I cant ice a cake to save my life! (any bakers wanna collab? hit me up). I ended up doctoring up some faux cacti picks and flowers from Michaels and voila!! Naked Cake!
I just can’t…
These bad boys make me sooooo happy! We went with mini cupcakes (the angle of the photo makes them look bigger, hehehe) They are the cutest and sweetest little adiition to our table! Just take some store bought cake mix, lime slices, pink straws, and green food coloring. You now have, what I call. The BEST Margarita cupcakes.
Ahhhhhhh.
These cups totally make the table! How cute are they?? I found these (believe it or not) at Dollar tree. They tie everything together!
And last but not least.
See…I told you the adults wouldn’t be left out. How cute are these little margarita teasers. I call it a teaser because thats exactly what it is. These little Tequila miniatures are the cutest welcome drink to any party. Of course only for the 21 and over crowd.
I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into our Cinco De Mayo Fiesta and that your day is filled with Margaritas and tacos to your hearts content!
Cake, cupcakes, AND drinks?! Please send me an invitation next time LOL. You did an amazing job on the cake, I love the minimalist design and simple colors of your overall Cinco De Mayo fiesta. Very bright and fresh!
