My Wellness Spa Experience
You are probably thinking, what is a Wellness Spa? Eekkk, I’m so excited to tell you… It’s a magical place to relax and recharge, a place to take in all the natural scenery and center yourself. An amazing place without all the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
I got you at “relax and recharge” didn’t I?
I am so excited to tell you about Sunrise Springs Spa Resort. This gorgeous place is located in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico. A place that has nothing but the most beautiful South West charm and scenery that you can even imagine. I am so honored that I was able to attend the @SimplySocialNM Girls’ Getaway Insta Retreat provided by Sunrise Springs.
Imagine being in a beautiful place and finding yourself in the company of some pretty amazing ladies (Social Media giants to be exact). Ladies that I look up to, who have paved the way in social media marketing and influencing. I wanted to pinch myself, just to make sure this opportunity was real.
I have arrived…
First things first… we walked the gorgeous landscape past many serene water features to our rooms to get settled. These rooms…what can I say but “WOW.” These beautifully decorated rooms awaited us with all the sweetest touches. It’s the little things that always speak volumes to me. My bed had a welcoming tray with tea cups and Sunrise Springs signature tea ready. The wet bar was stocked with tea, sparkling water and coffee (YES coffee!!!) Thats not even the cool part… are you ready?!?! They provided the coolest collapsible sport type bottles to drink from. Ok, I know sport bottles don’t sound that special. But, the sport bottles were to be filled with drinking water from the sink. Yes, you read that right. The tap water from the sink was AMAZING!! This water was spring-fed well water, and soooo refreshing. Who knew.
To start our day
We had an amazing lunch at the Blue Heron Restaurant. Chef Rocky Durham created some of the most beautiful and wonderfully tasting meals I have ever had. The steak salad and salmon were almost too pretty to eat…almost. And, of course the champagne and company was not bad either.
It was hilarious watching everyone at our table pull out their phones to take pics of the food. Everyone at that table “just got it” it was soooo funny and refreshing at the same time. I’m sure to others we all probably looked absolutely nuts. Thats the great things about these Insta-retreats we all share the same passion about telling our stories and building lasting Insta communities.
After our millionth pic of the evening we took a tour of the grounds.
This place is huge!
We toured the stunning Repose pools, Medicine Wheel, Greenhouse, Gym (I didn’t set a foot in, lol) and saw all the many amenities that are offered here. This is such a small portion of what is actually offered here, there is something for everyone. At this point I had no idea exactly what was in store for us, but was so excited for the challenge.

- Greenhouse Beauty
- Chickens!!!
- So beautiful
Everywhere you look people walk around in their comfy robes, leaving the pools or spa services. All the while looking ever so relaxed. I couldn’t wait to get started.
What I had the pleasure of doing!
Now that you have sen exactly how amazing this place is I would love to share some of my personal experiences with you.
The first activity was the coolest, yup you guessed it. Hatchet Throwing! What a great way to break the ice with a bunch of awesome women you just met. It was so amazing to cheer each other on all the while wanting your hatchet to pleeasssseee stick! It was somewhat comical but oh so fun!
Too Funny Not to Share… This is what happens when a group of Social Media boss babes get together. lol!
Now how can you top that? Your day starting with the coolest activity, to show you how much of a bada$$ you really are.
Well, it got even better. Baby KITTENS!!
The next activity I had the pleasure of playing with the sweetest and softest kittens you have ever seen. And, let me start off by saying…I’m not a kitten person. I have had dogs all my life. But, these little guys captured my heart. They were all so sweet and full of fun energy. I (yup, me) even bonded with the sweetest all white kitten named Pricilla. She was my furry little partner in crime, and I came so close to bringing that sweet girl home.

Later that day… I had the most amazing 50 minute massage I have ever had. The room was so comfortable and inviting with the best smells of lavender and the sound of Indian flute in the background! I mean look at these pics… my face says it all.
The next was the Gorgeous and oh so relaxing Repose Pools. Imagine walking through the chill of the fall air to the most beautiful pools with steam rising up from them. With a row of hammocks swaying in the breeze and the smell and warmth of a crackling fire nearby. Heavenly, right?
I’m sure after reading this anyone can agree with me that Sunrise Springs, NM is a purely magical place. A place that everyone needs to visit at some point in their busy life. I keep thinking that I need to come back with my husband for a relaxing weekend or anniversary get away. I can’t wait until I get the opportunity to come back to this amazing place.
