The best parents getaway!
Ok, let me preface this post by saying Hotel Santa Fe Hacienda @ Spa is ahhhmazing. You’r probably wondering why I just said that random statement, lol. I got to experience all that Hotel Santa Fe has to offer and have to say, I am now a huge fan. I had absolutely no idea that this southwestern gem was just a hop, skip and jump away, literally 1 hour away from Albuquerque, NM. This hotel nestled in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico has all the charm that you would expect with stunning Indian and southwestern influence.
Parents getaway at Hotel Santa Fe …what?
Yes exactly! Parents (in general) are constantly busy and on the go, with managing of the house, paying bills, chauffeuring kids to various school functions and spots. IT GETS EXAUSTING! I know, because that was us. Well, up to a couple weeks ago. Kevin and I drove an hour out of town not knowing that the destination would be one that changes our perspective on life. Yes, yes, I know Im going deep here. Just bear with me. We had the best time on the drive together, we were able to actually talk and have a conversation. You know, other than what do you want for dinner? Who is gonna pick up the girls? Just the time spent is something I’ll cherish. How often can you get that important time together?

Getting to the hotel…
Getting to the hotel was purely a magical experience. lol, I’m not kidding. We drove up to a beautiful hotel in a winter wonderland, a blanket of white snow was just the beautiful greeting that we needed. Upon walking in everywhere you looked were native southwestern plants with yup…twinkle lights. They got me with the twinkle lights…I was home.
We were greeted by some of the sweetest staff that I have ever met, always smiling and so willing to help with anything. This alone spoke volumes as to how the hotel was run. Then came the fun part, are you ready for it? Animal friendly! We met the cutest fur babies ever. The Hotel owner walked in with his babies too. I absolutely loved that it was a pet friendly establishment. It really felt like home.
The rooms at Hotel Santa Fe…
Ok y’all, the rooms were amazing and beautiful and comfy…I could go on and on. The main things I absolutely loved was:
The balconies in every room! There was a double door off every seating area with these beautiful balconies that opened to the prettiest sights. Ours opened to all the beautiful winter white, and fresh air. It was heavenly. I won’t say that I drank my morning coffee standing out in the snow. But, I totally did!
The second was all the art work…and when I say Art, I totally mean it. Everywhere you turn there is such amazing and colorful pieces, including the individual rooms. Even if you don’t stay in the hotel, which I would highly recommend. The art is some of the most beautiful and authentic Indian pieces I have ever seen.
Last and certainly not least was the bathroom mirrors. Ok, but before you laugh hear me out. These mirrors were amazing. The backlighting and brightness was a blogger/ Social Media Influencers dream. I felt like a starlet getting ready for a big awards show. Y’all, my makeup never looked better. During our hotel tour the manager even pointed them out, you know they had to be something special.
To me its all about the little things and Santa Fe Hotel had nothing short of the best details.
Do I even have to tell you about the SPA?
Of course I do…The Spa. What can I say but, Helllooo Happiness. You walk out of the main lobby to grand double doors. Inside is a tranquil welcome of trickling water on a beautifully lit rock wall. Believe me when I say that you are instantly relaxed with the sweet smell of the candles and soft sounds of an Indian flute playing in the background. Ive already gotcha, haven’t I? Inside you prepare for your services with some of the most talented individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting.
I was fortunate enough to have had a full 1 hour massage… lets just say, Well, my hair was a disaster. That in my book was the massage of a lifetime. My masseuse was so attentive to my needs and surprised me with her knowledge of muscle groups. She pointed out areas that I overworked with my job and everyday life. She was amazing.
- Soooo relaxing!
- Oh, why hello there!
I wouldn’t be doing the Spa or Hello Luvs justice if I didn’t mention the incredibly fun element in the spa. Yes, you go there to relax and yada yada. But, these guys know how to have a little fun. As you walk through the spa you see what appears to be a man standing at the top of the stairs. There is no “real” man, just a ridiculously life-like portrait of one. The story goes…well, I think I’ll leave that one there. You will have to visit, to hear the funny story of the man on the stairs.
What do you do after relaxing? You Eat!
Y’all, if I could give all the heart eye emojis I would! This was such a wonderful experience. Before the meal even began an Indian prayer was said over the table, such an amazing way to start the evening. We were treated to some beautiful dishes with southwest influence.
We cant just stop at the food though, the atmosphere was breathtaking. All around us was floor to ceiling windows, with you guessed it “twinkle lights.” The grounds had beautiful native statues staggered throughout, and twinkle lights that make all the snowfall that much more magical.
Did I mention the wood burning fireplaces or teepee?? The fireplaces were in no short supply. The sight, sounds, and warmth simply added to the already amazing atmosphere. And the teepee…I wanted sooooo bad to eat dinner in there. Until my husband pointed out that the top was open with allowed for lots of snowfall inside. Thats ok, it just gives me something to look forward to visiting when we go back.
This is just a glimpse.
Y’all, this post doesn’t do Hotel Santa Fe justice. I can only hope that you get the opportunity to visit this stunning destination so you can experience it all for yourself. We are so blessed to have discovered this hidden gem, and the memories and closeness that were created from it.

Happy to know that you had the great experience. It is a definitely a great way to spend the weekend and just relax. I would love to see the man on the stairs. LOL
I’ve been searching for a gateway for my husband and I and this sounds wonderful! It’s funny once you become parents your “getaway” is not a vacation jam packed with activities but instead a getaway focused on relaxation and slowing down for a change.
This sounds like an awesome place to visit! How nice that you were able to get away to enjoy some time together.
Hotel Santa Fe looks like a dreamy parents getaway. I would LOVE to do this!
That looks amazing. A spa getaway is definitely a great thing for any parent. I just want to sleep and eat and not have anyone yell “Mama” every 2 seconds. Lol.
What an amazing place. The spa sounds wonderful. And the lights in the dinner and venue look absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
We’ve actually stayed there (pre-kids) and it was wonderful. Can’t wait to get back when the kids are a bit older!
Oh my- now I need to plan a weekend getaway with the hubs. Thanks for the inspiration- we need it!
This is great to put on me and hubbys getaway list. We love getting away from home for a few days.
My husband and I haven’t had a date night in ages. This looks like an amazing getaway spot!
You are making me want to plan a night away! So important to connect without the kids!
Love this hotel! Looks like you had an amazing getaway. For more like this one.
We’ve driven through Santa Fe, but have never stopped. The next time we’re in the area, we definitely need to visit this place!
Parent getaways are the best and are much-needed. Hope you enjoyed it.
