Yay…Halloween is almost here!
What is the one thing synonymous with Halloween? Poison!!!…poison drinks and of course Poison Apples. Thanks to our favorite Evil Queen from Snow White, these apples are quite iconic. As you already know, I am a sucker for anything fun. That includes our food!! I want to share one of my fav things to do for my family during the Halloween season…Poison Apples. I love making these specifically because they are super easy to make. You don’t break the bank making them, and its an activity the kids can help with.
These in my book, puts me in the #momwin/ #pinterestmom category. Believe me, I’m never in that category. Half the time I haven’t done my hair in days (yay, dry shampoo), I’m probably wearing my same leggings from the day before, and my makeup is near done…just keeping it real. Anyway, when I have a big Pinterest win its time to celebrate, or blog about it!! So here it goes ladies and gents.

Poison Apples
Lets have some fun and make the cutest (and yummiest) halloween treats out there. These poison apples are sure to bring out the kid in all of us.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle Microwave safe squeeze bottle with narrow opening
- 1 bag Wilton White Candy Melts
- 1-6 Red Apples
- 1-6 Branch stems
Instructions
-
Items needed to make Poison Apples...
Start with spearing your apples!
-
Fill your squeeze bottle with candy melts to the fill line
-
Place bottle in microwave at 1/2 power (or defrost setting) for 30 sec intervals. Make sure you shake bottle to move chocolate around so it doesn't burn. Do this until chocolate is fully melted approx 1-2min. Be careful, bottle can get hot.
-
Start with a clean apple that you already have speared. Draw out your eyes and nose shape, that you want the dripping chocolate around.
Fun Note: These don't have to be perfect, the fun part is messing up and seeing how scary you can make it!!
-
Start at the top and squeeze the chocolate around your eyes and nose making sure you squeeze a little extra to get that dripping effect.
I personally like to decorate the whole apple with chocolate. However, that can take a lot of chocolate. If you are making quite a few, just decorate the front. Everyone likes them just the same ?
-
Once you are done decorating, place the apples on a tray in the fridge so the chocolate can harden.
Voila...you have super cute and fun poison apples for your next halloween get together.
What do ya think?!?!
I’m so excited for you to try these. These Poison Apples have made such a fun addition to our Parties, movie nights (blog post coming soon?), and Halloween get-together that you absolutely have to try.
